BOCA OC ARE PROUD TO WELCOME LEGENDARY COACH TONY BRUCE

Boca OC is proud to welcome Tony Bruce, one of the top coaches in the country, to our staff. Tony has worked at every youth, academy and college level and has an extensive resume of success everywhere he has been. Tony has vast experience coaching in Southern California, both as a player and a coach. He has served on the staff of multiple college programs in the area, including Cal State Northridge, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Loyola Marymount University, El Camino Community College, Antelope Valley College, Mission College and Santiago Canyon College, where he will continue to coach.

Tony has also coached at nine different high school programs and 15 clubs in the area, most recently at OC Surf. He has also served as a Coaching Education Staff Coach with the California Youth Soccer Association-South and as a State and Regional Staff Coach for the Olympic Development Program (ODP). He holds several different coaching licenses, including the USSF National A, B and C, USSF National Youth, USSF National Goalkeeper, Brazilian B and C (Brusa), NSCAA Goalkeeper and NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching licenses.

As a youth player, Tony played at Drumchapel Amateurs and Patrick Thistle (in Scotland) and at Leeds United, Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers (in England). He played professionally for three teams in the North American Soccer League (NASL) and for the California Sunshine in the American Soccer League (ASL). He also has 14 years of playing experience playing for seven different teams in the Greater Los Angeles Professional League.

He will start immediately setting up the club functional sessions that will further develop our players in their specific positions as well as other programs. "I have known Tony Bruce for many years. He is a coach that has the same values and beliefs that we have as a club and as a staff. He will be instrumental in continuing to grow Boca OC in the quality of players and teams that we have become known for. I couldn't be happier to have him on staff,” said Boca OC Director of Soccer and Player Development Jimmy Obleda.

Please join us in welcoming Tony Bruce to the Boca OC family!
